Bidding information
A quick guide to buying a modern car at Anglia Car Auctions. Check the official modern-car buying page for the latest terms and fees before bidding.
How to bid
Sales are open to the public. You can bid in person, online, by telephone, or by leaving a commission bid. A £500 deposit is required to bid. If a provisional bid does not result in a sale, the deposit is refundable.
Viewing
Viewing starts at 9am Monday to Friday and runs from 9am to 1pm on Saturday. If you are travelling to see a particular vehicle, call first to check it is still available.
Payment
Anglia issues an invoice after purchase and asks for the balance by bank transfer. Its modern-car guide says that if you pay only the deposit at the sale, the balance is due within 48 hours. Use the payment details on your invoice or confirm them directly with Anglia.
Collection and storage
You can collect at purchase. The guide says vehicles must be removed within three working days of the sale to avoid storage charges. It also says collection is available until the following Saturday, 9am–1pm. Confirm the deadline that applies to your vehicle with Anglia.
Vehicles left for more than a week may be moved to a storage compound, with a minimum charge of £35 plus VAT for each week or part-week there.
Buyer fees
Anglia charges an indemnity fee based on the vehicle purchase price. Its stated cover lasts three months and applies to stolen vehicles, outstanding finance, and undeclared total loss, subject to its terms. Online bids also attract an extra 2% of the hammer price plus VAT.
